HOW RAW SCRAPS WAS BORN
Raw Scrap didn’t start with a big plan or clear destination. It began as a space to share what we were working on, show the process behind each piece, and explain how and why we made them. It was about expression first. If people connect with it and want to buy something, that is a bonus and an amazing way to support us. Upcycling wasn’t something we added later. It was the blueprint from the very beginning.
WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT?
We’re not pretending that making clothes is innocent. It isn’t. Producing garments doesn’t erase the damage caused by the fashion industry. We’re trying to face that reality honestly: transforming as many used garments as possible into one new piece, while reusing every detail we can, from buttons and zippers to buckles and scraps. That’s where our 8:1 idea comes from: turning eight garments into one. Not as a gimmick, but as a philosophy. How many garments can we puzzle together to achieve more reuse?
WHAT CAN PEOPLE EXPECT FROM US?
A space with purpose. RAW SCRAPS aims to be more than a brand: a community project built around workshops, exchange, and shared learning.A place to reconnect with making, slow down our relationship with fashion, and discover that recycling isn’t a compromise, but a creative force.A place where everyone is welcome, and money isn’t a barrier to creating. Fashion shouldn’t be reserved for a few. What the industry needs now is more courage, responsibility, and imagination.
